Biomethane Production at Biogas Upgrading Facility in Vry, France Started

After successful commissioning, the biogas upgrading facility in Vry in northeastern France is now operational and delivering biomethane with 97% methane directly to the French gas network. The gas grid of France is becoming greener and greener thanks to the biogas upgrading systems of Bright Biomethane.

Bright Biomethane supplied the biogas-to-biomethane system for the upgrading of the biogas to a methane-high renewable gas suitable for the existing gas grid. Bright also supplied the heat pump for efficient heat recovery. The recovered heat is used for the processes of the existing biogas plant. Bright can deliver any additional components according to the wishes of the customer to deliver high-quality and energy efficient projects.

Biomethane: a renewable natural gas

Biomethane is also known as renewable natural gas. This PurePac Medium system applies membrane technology for the separation of the methane from the carbon dioxide into to produce the renewable gas biomethane.

Having a capacity of 340 Nm3 biomethane per hour and 2.95 million Nm3 biomethane annually, the installation supplies roughly 2,000 French households with energy and heat from biomethane year-round.
